NEW YORK: It's good news for people who enjoy rock music but have sensitive hearing. From next week, the Irving Plaza club in Manhattan will lend 15 free soundproof headphones with volume controls to concertgoers who leave a credit card deposit. During the show, the music mix will be transmitted to the headphones by infra-red beams from the club's soundboard.
